Returns & Refund Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Buying a jacket without trying it on takes a certain amount of faith. This page explains exactly what happens if it does not work out, so you know before you order rather than after.
Your statutory right to cancel
Because you are buying at a distance within the European Union, you have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase without giving us any reason at all. That period runs from the day you, or someone you nominated other than the courier, physically receive the goods.
Tell us within those 14 days and the goods then need to travel back to us within a further 14 days. Any clear statement will do — an email is enough. If you would rather use the standard withdrawal form, ask and we send it to you.
You are free to examine the goods as you would in a shop. Handle them well beyond that and we may reduce your refund by a documented amount to reflect the loss in value.
Our 30-day window
On top of the statutory 14 days, Ryan Dublin voluntarily extends the return period to 30 days from delivery. Days 15 to 30 are our own offer, not a legal entitlement, and the conditions in the next section apply in full.
Nothing we offer voluntarily reduces what Irish and EU law already gives you.
Condition we need goods back in
Unworn and unused, in the state they reached you, with original tags still attached, free of aftershave, smoke and marks, and in the original packaging where that is still possible. Include the order number or another proof of purchase.
Within the statutory 14 days, a missing box or a removed tag does not cancel your right to withdraw, though it may affect the value of the goods and therefore the sum refunded. Under the voluntary extension, days 15 to 30, we do need the item complete.
Starting a return — two routes
Email support@ryan-dublin.com, or send the form on our contact page. Either reaches the same team.
Give us the order number, say which items are coming back, and tell us whether you are withdrawing, using the 30-day extension, or reporting a fault. We reply with instructions and the correct return address. Pack the goods, send them, and pass us the tracking reference.
Contacting us first is not us granting permission — a clear statement inside the deadline is legally sufficient on its own. It is a practical necessity: we ship from more than one location, so the right return address depends on your order, and a parcel that arrives unannounced cannot be matched to you.
Return postage
If your return is accepted we send instructions on how and where to send the package. The cost of returning goods is the customer's responsibility, except where an item reaches you defective, damaged, or is simply not what you ordered — in those cases we pay.
Use a tracked service. Without a tracking reference we have no way of chasing a parcel that disappears on its way back.
No restocking charge
We do not apply a restocking fee. It is €0, on every return, without exception.
When an order goes wrong
It never turned up
If tracking stalls, or the parcel is marked delivered but is nowhere to be found, tell us. We raise it with the carrier and investigate. If the parcel cannot be traced we either send the order again or refund you in full, whichever you prefer, at no cost to you.
It arrived damaged
Open your parcel promptly and check it. If something is damaged, email us the order number and a clear photograph of the item, plus one of the outer packaging if the box itself took a hit. We arrange a replacement or a full refund, your choice, and we cover the return postage.
Getting in touch within 48 hours genuinely helps, because carriers close their damage claims quickly. It is not a condition of anything — report it later and it is still dealt with.
We sent the wrong thing
Our error, our cost. We collect or pay for the return of the incorrect item and send the right one, or refund you in full.
Swapping an item
We do accept exchanges, for a new item of equivalent kind. Honestly, the faster route is to return what you have for a refund and place a fresh order for the size or colour you actually want — that ships immediately instead of waiting on the return.
What cannot come back
The statutory right to withdraw does not extend to goods made to your own specification or clearly personalised, nor to sealed goods that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons once the seal is broken. Perishables, hazardous materials, flammable liquids, gases and gift cards are also outside the scheme.
Where a product falls into one of these groups it says so on its own product page, not only here. Sale and promotional items carry exactly the same return rights as anything bought at full price.
Cancelling before dispatch
You can cancel at no cost within 24 hours of ordering, provided the parcel has not already gone out. Email us with the order number in the subject line. After dispatch we can no longer stop it, but your right to withdraw and the 30-day window both survive the delivery.
Getting your money back
When you exercise the statutory right to withdraw, we reimburse everything you paid us, including the cost of our cheapest standard delivery. If you chose a more expensive option — the Priority & Insured Shipping upgrade at €2.95, for instance — that supplement is not reimbursed, because the service was already performed.
Refunds are processed within 7 days of approval, in euro, to the payment method used for the order. We may hold reimbursement until the goods are back with us or you have shown they were sent. You are never charged a fee for a refund.
Banks then take their own time. If 15 business days have gone by since we confirmed the refund and nothing has landed, speak to your bank and then come back to us.
Faulty goods and your legal guarantee
Separate from any return window, goods must conform to the contract. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 you may pursue a remedy for a lack of conformity for up to six years after delivery. Where a fault appears within the first 12 months it is presumed to have been there when the goods reached you, and the burden of proving otherwise is ours.
Within 30 days of delivery you may choose to end the contract and take a refund, or ask for repair or replacement. Afterwards you can ask for repair or replacement, and where that proves impossible, is refused, or is not done within a reasonable time, you may seek a price reduction or, if the fault is not minor, end the contract and be refunded.
We also offer a commercial 30-day warranty against manufacturing defects. It sits on top of your legal rights and takes nothing away from them.
If we cannot agree
Write to us first — most things are settled in one email. If not, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission publishes guidance for consumers in Ireland, and the European Consumer Centre Ireland assists with cross-border purchases inside the EU.
